Success So Far!

Thank you Thank you Thank you for all the prayers and well wishes you all sent to us and mainly Stella. So far her surgery was a complete success.
Yesterday, her doctor was able to get in her eye and completely zap her tumor. She came home "drunk" and rested for a few hours. By 8 our puppy was ready to go again. This morning she got another great report from her follow up visit. The doctor said that her tumor has already shrunk by about 50% and that the pressures in her eyes have remained stable. Which is great news on both sides. The bad news is for Mike and I, we are suppose to keep our energetic 85 lbs puppy 1-not on a leash (harness only), 2- from hitting her head (big dopey dog= hits head a lot), not in direct sunlight (so far in Denver the past two days it has been 70 degrees), without exercise of any form (walks included) for 10 days! Yuck :-) She is effectively driving us both nuts, but we are both happy with how well she is feeling.
When I got home from work today I took the picture below of her eye. If you look closely you can see a small black dot on the colored part of her eye...before her surgery this wasn't a "dot" it was a big glob 7 mm x 3.5 mm to be exact...tonight it looks like a pen point! On Tuesday, our friend Lauren stopped by and brought Stella the cutest gift from her puppy Cheyenne. Cheyenne gave Stella a vet toy to "chew, destroy, and have a bit of payback." Such a cute gift and Stella enjoyed playing with it Tuesday night!

brrr...it's cold outside!

Hope all our Minnesota and North Dakota family and friends are staying warm. I can't imagine how cold it is up there...I almost froze to death over Christmas break!

Denver is different...even when it is cold...it's not that cold! We usually have the sun too which keeps us warm.

So keep warm and maybe think of investing in a snuggie.

New Babies...

We have babies galore in the spring of 2009...Mike and I both have friends having babies all over the place.
The first...John and Sabrina...welcomed Samuel on December 27th. Mike and I went up on Saturday to spend some time with the new family. Samuel is still so little...made me sad I haven't gotten to meet our next baby Hallie
Hallie...is my friend Jeff and Tiffany's baby. She was born on December 30th and is cute as a button from the picture I have seen.
Now we have a couple more weeks before we have another little girl coming and a couple months from now we have a little boy on the way.
Congrats to the new parents and the upcoming parents!

Stella Puppy

Our pup had surgery last Friday...surgery went very well and she has been recovering at home. Besides not being able to go to the p-a-r-k or play with her friend E-l-l-a, she is doing great. She just can't seem to understand why we don't want to play with the toys she brings us.
Next Wednesday she will have another procedure to have a malignant tumor in her eye removed. The little black dot in the corner of her eye is the nasty tumor...Keep your fingers crossed that the first procedure gets all of it and that she will have no troubles. Updates will follow

Another Year Older

Saturday I celebrated my 27th birthday. Mike and I went to dinner at my favorite Oceanaire and then went and met up with some friends at a little neighborhood bar. It was a great day and after I was over the shock of being 27, my mom was still trying to get over the shock that this is my last birthday as Stacey McConachie! Sorry mom :-)
When we got home Stella was just getting ready to "go out." I let her outside to go potty and before I could even tell her to come back, she was in the cab checking things out!
Our neighbor Kylie also had made me a special surprise and left it at our house...my own personal birthday cake and oh so yummy.

Bath Time

How funny do our 3 pets look after "bath train." I wash, Mike dries, and Stella wonders why the cats are crying! It is pretty comical.

Back Country Skiing

With the new snowmobile Mike and I have taken up a NEW type of skiing...back country.

So some people hike up, we snow ski behind the snowmobile (just like water skiing, but on snow) Once your exhausted from being pulled up the side of a mountain...you get to the top and then start to ski! The snow is amazing, and because it isn't easy to get back there, there is a lot of fresh snow!

Mike, Troy (my brother), and I went up this past weekend and had a great time. Here are some pictures...

Ringing in 2009

Mike and I rang in the New Year by heading out to dinner at Rioja and then back home to celebrate here. Neither of us made it to Midnight...but we would have if we would have been in NYC! Dinner was a lot of fun and it was nice to spend the night together...we have so many things to look forward to in 2009! Happy New Year from us to you!

Stella is now 6 months

and a BIG puppy!
So for those of you that got to meet his this past week, you now know just how big she is, but she is bigger than most full grown labs at this point and is around 70-75 pounds.
She is getting fixed and having a gastropexy done on Jan 9th so we will know just how much she weights then. Up until now I have been holding her with me on the scale, and now she is just "too big" to try to do this in the bathroom!
She is still fun as ever. She had a great day playing in the park today with her litter mate-Boss, and another 10.5 month old Dane named Charlie.

December #2 = Break-in #2

Today when we got back from the grocery store we noticed that one of my cars windows was broken. It didn't take us long to realize that someone had broken into our car. Boo bad people, so annoying. So I don't know if Mike and I are "used" to this or what, but we both are feeling like it could have been so much worse.

We thankfully had unloaded all of our stuff from the car last night when we got home and the only things that were taken was my GPS, 2 iPods, and our phone charger/cords for the iPod. But what we were so thankful about is that they didn't come into our house, didn't trash the car, didn't take the car, didn't see that the garage door opener was there and break into the garage, and so on.

Nonetheless, it sucks and we are both really pissed that people sometimes suck and do nasty sh*t like this! Guess they didn't have as wonderful a Christmas as we did.
