Holiday Greetings,
L Let the Laschen family Letters begin! What better time to start a new tradition than the beginning of the new decade and the start of our family.
A An addition to our family came this March 31, 2010 with the birth of our first child. What an adventure parenthood has been! No one can prepare you for the humbling love and joy a child puts in your heart. On the flip side, parenthood is life altering and an immense amount of work. Mike and I are hopeful Santa will put some additional sleep under our Christmas Tree. Thomas continues to be a delight and likes to challenge us. We can’t imagine our life without his smiles and silliness around. He has shown us that we should have been easier on our parents, even at a few months old he has proved that it will be his way or no way.
S Stella, Itzy and Tucker continue to provide us with much entertainment. Stella enjoys being part of the team and allowing Thomas to crawl all over her. Itzy is content with sleeping during the day and continuing her role as night watch cat. Tucker has quickly turned into Thomas’ cuddle toy. If she can’t escape, she allows him to lay on top of her and snuggle. Our animals have been so wonderful with Thomas, if it is possible, we love them even more!
C Careers-- Mike continues to weather the storm of his company’s reorganization. As of now, we are hopeful that we will remain in Denver or start a new in a different city. If all else fails he was accepted into the MBA program at Regis University and will start school in January. Stacey works a few hours a week with children as speech language pathologist. As much as she enjoys her job, she has found that her true calling is staying at home with Thomas.
H Home--March 2010 marked a full year that we have been in Arvada and the memories are abundant. Mike has had a long “honey-do” list and between new floors, lights and landscaping our house is coming together. This house has truly become our home, and if we must start anew we wish we could take it with us.
E Every few days check our family’s blog at www.stacey-ourjourney.blogspot.com. We have been posting our adventures for a few years, but admit it is a lot more fun to share about Thomas. The pictures are plentiful and it is a great way to keep people in the loop. Plus, we love bragging about Thomas and sharing our pictures with you.
N New Year- We hope that 2011 will bring you and yours peace, hope, health and love. 2010 has taught us again that nothing in life is certain, and each day needs to be filled to the fullest.
We wish you a very Merry Christmas, a Happy New Year and a promising 2011…..
With Love,
Mike, Stacey and Thomas Laschen (and the pets too)
