Long Weekend with Renee in Town

Friday afternoon Renee came into town and we hit the ground running.  Thomas took a short nap in the car on the way to pick her up at the airport.  Once home Thomas woke up and we made a change of plans for the day.  We packed up quickly and were off to try to make the elephant feeding time.

We rushed through the zoo and were able to feed both the elephant and giraffe before seeing other animals.  Once we had enough time at the zoo we went home and met Mike for dinner and chilling at the house.Renee's VisitCollages3Saturday morning Mike headed out to mountain bike and Renee, the little ones and I were off to see the aquarium and waterfront.  We ran into our neighbor and “the boys” and walked through the aquarium with them.  After having lunch on the waterfront we headed home for naptime.  We were all exhausted and just spent the rest of the afternoon resting and relaxing.  Renee's Visit1After dinner we headed down to the beach to see the sunset and check out low tide.  The tide was low but there wasn’t anything fun to see.  However, we did see a guy bringing his crab pots in on his paddle board.   He had 2 crabs, 1 male and 1 female.  We all learned how to tell them apart and that the females are to be thrown back and the males can be kept.   Thomas had fun digging with the boys in the stream that runs down into the Sound.   As we were leaving Thomas met to police officers and got a police badge. He was so proud and excited.Collages4Renee's Visit2Collages5Sunday morning the girls headed to tour Pike Place Market and get dinner, while the boys went to play hockey.  First we stopped at the first Starbucks for a drink and waited in the huge line.  Then we were off to get cheese curds at Beecher’s. We then walked around the market gathering yummy food for dinner.   Then we headed over to the Fremont neighborhood to have lunch before heading home to rest and cook dinner.Renee's Visit3Renee's Visit4Monday before heading to the airport we headed down to see the Space Needle and play in the International Fountain.  Thomas and Elin loved having Auntie Ney around.  It was a great, busy and exhausting visit.  Hopefully we didn’t scare Renee about the work involved in having 2 little ones!Collages6
