Painting Night

With Mother's Day coming up I wanted to get a few art projects off in the mail.   I had also not been brave enough to do the task with only my two hands.  Thomas was feeling kind of crummy and had taken a long late nap so we decided a chill after dinner activity was needed, painting with Daddy's extra set of hands around sounded great to me, terrible to Daddy.May 2013
You see Daddy hates to get messy.  It "grosses him out" and I love to push his buttons, so messy painting it was.  I also have no fear of getting messy or cleaning up with an extra load of laundry.  Aside from the mess part, watching the kiddos get their art on is pretty stinking great.
After a few minutes, several redirections and a few missed paint brushes into Elin's mouth (darn she is fast) we pulled the plug on Elin's painting.  As you can see she was less than pleased.   She did quite a sad and pouty protest and was certain she was mad, very mad.  The back up plan was some "playdoh" or her baby oatmeal into a play doh like consistency with a drop of food coloring.  Then it was safe for her to explore and play.May 20133
Thomas as always loved the painting and dumping and mixing of colors.  He also loved making hand prints and was very enthusiastic once he found out that is what we were doing.  A quick bath and 15 minutes of clean up and all was back to normal at the Laschen house.  Several masterpieces had been made for the special ladies in our lives.
